How to transfer video to a computer

Important note about Windows® Vista™

  • The USB Streaming feature available on some camcorder models is not supported with Microsoft Windows Vista™.
  • The drivers required to connect most Sony cameras and camcorders are already included in the Microsoft Windows Vista™ operating system.
  • In some instances, the camera or camcorder may not be recognized by the computer when connected.
  • Not all Sony camcorders are compatible. For these camcorders, operation with the Microsoft Windows Vista™ operating system is not guaranteed.

The procedure to transfer videos to a computer will vary depending on the type of camcorder and the type of connection used.

Select the type of camcorder:
