Before you start :

  • Connection through a USB hub or other USB device -- such as a printer or keyboard -- is not supported and cannot be guaranteed. Only connect the camera to a USB port on the computer.
  • This procedure must be performed while logged in as Administrator or to an account with Administrator rights

  • It is not necessary to install the USB driver provided with the camera software. The driver needed for the USB connection is already part of the operating system. If you already installed the USB driver provided by the camera, it may be necessary to uninstall the USB driver and then reinstall the appropriate USB driver from the operating system as described further below in this procedure.
  • Ensure the USB mode is set to [Normal] using the camera [SETUP] menu.

Transfering Images to the Computer

  • Turn on the computer.
  • Turn on the camera.
  • Insert the recording media containing the pictures into the camera.
  • Connect the camera to the computer using the USB cable that was provided with the camera.
  • On the desktop screen of the computer, double-click the My Computer icon.
  • In the My Computer window, double-click the icon that represents the camera. Most digital still cameras will be represented by an icon that says Removable Disk.
  • Your images can be found in the DCIM folder. You can either drag the complete folder or selected images to your computer and drop them into any (pre)defined folder on your Hard Disk.

Note

  • The computer will automatically install the USB driver for the camera connection the first time you connect your camera.
  • When the camera connection is established, an AutoPlay window will appear.
  • In the AutoPlay window, click Import pictures.
  • In the Importing Pictures and Videos window, click the Import button.
  • After the pictures have been imported, the Windows Photo Gallery window will appear and display thumbnails of the imported images.
