Sony 70-200mm f2.8 gm-ii is definitely wonderful lens. I jabe covered two events and amazed by it’s output. I can ise the jpeg straight from the camera. Excellent quality. Cons- very expensive lens. Prpbably in future i will rethink again n again if i will go for sony or some third party lens to be honest. I am a big fan of sony, but budget matters!

This is the best Sony lens for everyday use, buy it now..

This is my first G-Master lens and having a native lens on my MKV is a dream come true. Super fast and crisp. Now I completely understand how and why Sony charges what they do. You need one.

I could have dished out the extra money to get the GM II, but I didn't feel it was necessary. This lens was great when I took it to the zoo on a family outing. I'm not the best photographer around (still learning), but this lens definitely exceeded my expectations. I would definitely recommend this lens to anyone wanting a 70-200 zoom, especially paired with the 2x teleconverter.

I am a fan of Sony’s GM lenses. I’ve take some choice photos with this lens. It’s well worth it.

This is my number one go to lens. I have used it for many years and it keeps on giving me the quality images for my needs. I like that it is small an compact and has a good Bokeh on images. Color is correct and there is little I need to do in Lightroom afterwards.

Received it used it for a few shots. Great lens specs except for the weight. Nice pics but the weight of it is over 4lbs! Hard sell even at the cheaper price and nice picture results, the weight makes this V1 lens hard to travel witth. If you are on a budget and don’t mind the weight, this lens is good. I decided to go for the V2 since I plan to use this on multiple occasions and travel with it a lot.

This lense I will easily say is a 5star lense of it's era. But if I were to say if it came out now in the same way, you can see it's aging. The quality and use of this lense is truly magnificent but it has 2 main quirks that have been addressed in the new model 2 that came out. #1 weight. This lense is heavy. You can use it as a Tonfa and beat your intruder with it. #2 speed. It is fast but after the 135gm came out the old motors just aren't the same. Aside from that it's an amazing lense that can get you results but if you are going to get a Sony a1 for 30fps this lense can't keep up with those frames.

Purchased this super lens from ffords in Scotland to try out against my F4 version, well the results are outstanding, yes its big and heavy but that's not a problem for me and i'm no spring chicken! Sold the F4. I would highly recommend this lens if you shoot action in dull lighting.

I bought this lens a few weeks ago to replace my f/4 70-200 and there's just so much to say about this lens. Probably the best piece of glass I've ever used. Its autofocus capabilities are insanely sharp especially when shooting video. I'm a sports photographer and videographer, so shooting fast-moving subjects is an essential part of my job. The autofocus is super quick, especially in low light. Don't even get me started on the bokeh!! it's extravagant. 10/10 lens for sure. The only reason that it isn't a perfect lens is its weight. It's low-key really heavy. paired with my α7III with the battery grip it's about 4-5lbs.

Had it 3 weeks only used a couple of times the results are excellent

Purchased a month ago and already had some great shots.

I bought this lens for sport and the very next day took it to a horse show. So glad I did. It hardly missed a shot and when it did it was operator error.

I purchased this lens recently and use it primarily for wildlife and birds in flight. In many cases, I have attached the 1.4 TC. Both with and without the teleconverter the lens produces extremely sharp photos on a consistent basis.

After about 3000 shots I really love my lens. I’ve sold all my lens that this GM covers.

I bought this 1 month ago and cannot get it to hold focus, I have taken it to set up workshop in store and it is just impossible. I have tried again and again. So returning it

I have never imagined that SONY will release the second generation of its GM lens and I bought this in May 2021. 70200 GM 2 was released just a few months later and I believe few people will come back for the first generation. Very disappointed and sad to buy this.

I've had my lens for nearly 3 years now and its perfect for my needs. I shoot sports but also use it for odd potrait. I find it feels well balanced on the alpha series of cameras and I can't think of a time I've had to use the tripod collar. I love that its internal zoom. It also has a useful array of buttons on the lens- ones for telling it what zoom range it should use and also a couple of buttons you can allocate functions to using the menu on your camera. Always found it to be sharp. I hear theres a new version on the way but can't say I'm in a rush to do an exchange.

This lens is the best 70-200 I have 'EVER' owned and believe me I've tried them all over the years Canon, Nikon, Sigma. Pin sharp, a joy to focus, fast enough, small, light and tough.

this lens is very rarely off my camera and is my go to lens. In fact it is also my walk around lens, the ability to swop from portrait to landscape within this focal range is of primary importance to me and this lens delivers it all.

Love using this lens on my a7r4. Also purchased the 2 x teleconverter. Great images all round

Fast, sharp, great bokeh. A little heavy but you must expect that for a lens such as this.

I bought this lens in July of this year but due to Covid and shipping I had to wait almost two months for it, but it was worth it! It is a bit heavy lens but quality of that lens and also of photos is great!

I am a concert photographer so work in low light, this lens is sharp and has fast focus, i have the lens coupled to a Sony A9 mk1

I bought the lens about a month ago and very pleased. Images are excellent as expected from the Sony GM range. The focusing motor is not as quiet as the 100-400 and 200-600, and you can hear and feel it move but works fine. One feature l find different to the other 2 zooms mentioned is that the MF ring is still active even if the lens is in AF, as if its in DMF but doesn't zoom in or activate the focus peaking, still haven't decided if this is a good feature or not as if you knock the MF ring after it has focussed can put if out of focus, but it maybe useful at times. Overall very happy.

Fast lens with excellent image quality. Good for videos as well

Very happy with the lens ability to shoot in poor light and very fast focus for sports and bird photography. I like the internal zooming feature without the lens protruding out.

70-200 is a mandatory focal length that I did not regret buying

Canon switcher, using Canon lens, for the time being. This my first Sony lens...Superb! Now to sell the rest of my Canon stuff for more Sony lens. I am happy snapper.

I bought this lens a couple of months back as I had been using my Canon 70-200 f.2.8 on an MC-11 converter since moving across from Canon. Wow, what a lens. Absolutely a must have.

I had an earlier version for use on my A77 and purchased the current model for my A7iii. Totally happy with the image and build quality. Th internal zoom keeps it well balanced.

I bought this lens to complement my FE200-600G for shooting wildlife. It's very early days with it but I'm simply blown away by how sharp it is on my A7r4. Focus is quick and it really does resolve well with 61MP. I've yet to try this with my A9 but I expect big things based on what I've seen so far. Yes, it's expensive but you get what you pay for.

I have enjoyed Sony cameras & lenses since coming from Canon. I am not happy with the quality. Anyone could agree that these lenses are priced very high... which is fine.... you get what you pay for. Thing is I've had this lens for around 3 years and it already took a dump. The motor went out. I baby my lenses & put them in manual when I'm done and go to any extreme to make sure they are taken care of so it was a total surprise to me that after only 3 years a high end lens motor would crash. On top of that it was a pretty penny to fix... $700 when in fact they first told me $400 at the highest. So yes I am not happy that when I do all I can to take care of my gear only to have it break down. I've had my L Canon lenses for over 10 years and not one problem so you make the choice.

I did not hesitate to purchase the 70-200 F2.8 GM after testing out a similar complimentary lens loan from Sony Singapore. I headed down to Marina Bay during the 'Circuit Breaker' period for a pre sunrise shoot. The AF was very fast and I was impressed with the image quality. This lens enables me to capture a black 'Covid Sky' signifying the current Coronavirus pandemic situation.

Bought this lens after using the 70-200 mm F4 and clearly there is a major difference between both lenses just in build and in weight it is INCREDIBILE I would recommend upgrading if possible.

I have had it awhile now and find myself using my 100-400GM and 70-200G much less. I even prefer it with the 1.4 or 2 TC to carrying the 100-400 now. Great lens!!!

I bought the 70-200 about 9 months ago and am very happy I did. Very versatile when I shoot sports. I use it in combination with my 400mm and soon to be 600mm to shoot field sports. Spectacular glass.

This lens is always in my camera bag. It was the first lens I bought for my A7 M3. It's a little heavy and unwieldy to be wondering the streets of Tokyo with but the overall quality of the lens more than makes up for it. I use this lens primarily when I'm photographing company functions and intramural sports. The wider aperture helps me get great day or night, indoors or outdoors. Overall this is a phenomenal lens and worth the cost

I bought it in Jan 20 and the picture quality is quite sharp even at night.
