There is a difference between the number of audio channels selected in Netflix and the number displayed on the audio system.

When you watch Netflix with the Digital audio out set to Auto, Auto1, or Auto2, audio from optical digital out/ARC is output as Dolby Digital/Dolby Digital Plus 5.1ch or Dolby Atmos.

For 2021 models (except W8 and X7 series):
Depending on the Digital audio out settings, audio from optical digital out/ARC is output as follows:
    • Auto1: Dolby Digital/Dolby Digital Plus 5.1ch or Dolby Atmos
    • Auto2: Dolby Atmos
    For other models:
When the Digital audio out setting is Auto or Auto1, audio from optical digital out/ARC is output as Dolby Digital/Dolby Digital Plus 5.1ch.

This is a specification and occurs regardless of whether the audio of the Netflix video is 2ch or 5.1ch.

Note: The reason is locked to Dolby Digital/Dolby Digital Plus 5.1ch or Dolby Atmos is to prevent the audio system from muting or producing noise when switching the number of audio channels.
