Why doesn't the icon of the CD drive change when a media is inserted into the DVD/CD-ROM drive?
The icon of the CD drive does not change when a media is inserted into the DVD/CD-ROM drive. The media can be normally read or written though.
Depending on the time taken to recognize the media, the icon of the DVD/CD-ROM drive may not change sometimes. The following methods may enable the icon to be displayed again.
1. Remove the media and insert it again.
2. If the symptom persists, restart Windows® while keeping the media in the drive.
This symptom is normal if the media can still be read or written. The computer can be used as it is.
