What do the “LC” and “NC” settings on the FILTER switch do?

    LC (Low-cut)

The LC (Low-cut) setting reduces unwanted noise from sources such as wind, air-conditioning, and vibrations. Depending on the recording environment, the effect may be hard to notice. You may notice it more clearly with low-frequency sounds, such as a car engine.

In a quiet environment, slight vibration noise may be recorded when you hold the device by hand. If vibration noise is bothersome, try setting the FILTER switch to LC.

    NC (Noise-cut)

The NC (Noise-cut) setting uses digital signal processing to reduce constant background noise. If the recorded audio sounds unnatural, set the FILTER switch to OFF.

Note: When the recording format is set to Ambisonics (4ch) in SPATIAL mode, the noise-cut function is disabled.
