Wireless LAN access points cannot be registered to the camera using the Wi-Fi function.

Before you start

Note: The camera's wireless LAN communication method (communication standard) supports IEEE 802.11 a / b / g / n / ac. For details, please refer to your camera's Help Guide.

• For information on the communication method supported by your wireless LAN router (access point), refer to the router's manual or contact its manufacturer.
• Make sure the wireless LAN router is turned on.
• Reception may be unstable if there are obstacles (such as walls) between the camera and the router, or if other electronic devices are nearby. For better reception, move the camera and router closer together before attempting a wireless connection.

Try the following procedures to solve the issue

1. Select the current connection method for access points.
   Proceed to the following step according to the connection method you use.
   • When connecting by WPS Push: Proceed to STEP 2.
   • When connecting by selecting an SSID from the list that is manually registered: Proceed to STEP 3.
   • When connecting by entering an SSID manually: Proceed to STEP 4.
2. When connecting by WPS Push
   Check the following two items.
   • Check if the push button on the wireless LAN router for access points supports the WPS method.
     If the push button does not support WPS, a wireless connection cannot be made using this method. In that case, register access points manually.
   • Check whether or not the security method for access points is set to WEP.
     If the security method is WEP, easy registration from the camera is not possible. Change the security setting to WPA or WPA2, or register access points manually.
   For help with checking WPS support or security settings, refer to your wireless LAN device manual or contact the manufacturer.
   For instructions on connecting via WPS Push, refer to the instruction manual of your camera.
3. When connecting by selecting an SSID from the list that is manually registered
   Note: When functions such as SSID stealth or Hidden SSID are enabled in the setting for the access point, the SSID may not be displayed in the list.
   If the SSID is not displayed in the list, try entering the SSID manually to register.
   • From the SSID list displayed on the camera, check if the SSID is selected for the access point of the wireless LAN router that is to be registered.
   • Check if the password (encryption key) is correct for the SSID that is to be registered.
   • In general, the IP address setting can be performed by Auto for wireless connections. In the case that the following items are to be set in the wireless LAN router for the access point, set the IP address setting for the following items by Manual.
   • • IP Address
     • Subnet Mask
     • Default Gateway
   For details on SSIDs, passwords, or the verification method of the IP address or subnet mask when using Manual, refer to the instruction manual or contact the manufacturer.
4. When connecting by entering the SSID manually
   • Check if the SSID you entered and the SSID of the wireless LAN router for the access point that is to be registered are identical.
   • Check if the encryption code method (WPA/WPE/None) or password is correct.
   • In general, the IP address setting can be performed by Auto for wireless connections. In the case that the following items are to be set in the wireless LAN router for the access point, set the IP address setting for the following items by Manual.
   • • IP Address
     • Subnet Mask
     • Default Gateway
   For details on SSIDs, encryption methods, passwords, or the verification method of the IP address or subnet mask when using Manual, refer to the instruction manual or contact the manufacturer.
5. Check the setting of the MAC address filtering in the wireless LAN router for access points.
   Access from the camera may be rejected because MAC address filtering is enabled in the wireless LAN router for access points. Check whether or not MAC address filtering is enabled in the wireless LAN router. If it is enabled, register the MAC address of the camera in the wireless LAN router.
   For details on how to check MAC address filtering, refer to the instruction manual of the device or contact the manufacturer.

   • MENU →(Wireless)→ Disp MAC Address.
