The Computer Doesn't Recognize the Walkman Player Driver

A device driver allows the computer to recognize devices. If the device driver isn't properly installed, the computer won't recognize the Walkman® player. Follow the steps below to check the device media status in the Device Manager window:

1. Connect your device to the computer with the supplied USB cable.
2. Launch Device Manager.

   • Microsoft® Windows® 11 operating system

     1. Press the Windows key or click the Start button.
     2. Type Device Manager into the search bar.
     3. Click on Device Manager from the search results.

   • Microsoft® Windows® 10 operating system

     1. On the lower left of the desktop, right-click the Start button.
     2. Click Device Manager.

   • Microsoft Windows® 8.1 operating system

     1. Display the charm on the desktop.
     2. Click Settings.
     3. Click Computer information (PC Info).
     4. Click Device Manager.

   • Microsoft Windows® 7 operating system

     1. Click the Start button on the lower left of the desktop.
     2. Right-click Computer.
     3. Click Properties.
     4. Click Device Manager.

3. Under Disk drives, check if it displays SONY WALKMAN USB Device.
