The WH-1000XM6 headphones do not operate properly.

    Check the following:

    • Wear the headphones and operate the touch sensor control panel. You cannot operate the touch sensor control panel when not wearing the headphones.
    • When you wear the headphones over a cap, cloth, a scarf, hair, etc., wearing detection may not work properly, and the touch sensor control panel may not work. Wear the headphones so that your ears are inside the earpads.
    • Using the Sony | Sound Connect app, select Device settingsSystem tab, and then set the Automatic Power off function to Do not turn off. Wearing detection will continue to work and the issue may be improved.
    • While the headphones are connected to a device via the supplied headphone cable and the headphones are turned on, you can use Quick Attention Mode, but you cannot perform operations such as volume adjustment or play/pause.
    • The headphones will not operate correctly when you operate the headphones with your fingernail or a gloved hand. Remove your glove, and operate the headphones with the ball of your finger.
    • Check that the touch sensor control panel setting is enabled with the Sony | Sound Connect app.
    • When connected with the computer, depending on the computer application you are using, you may not be able to operate with the touch sensor control panel. If this is the case, operate with the computer application.
    • Reset your headphones. For details, refer to the Help Guide.
    • If the issue is not resolve after the reset, initialize the headphones. For details, refer to the Help Guide.
Note: This operation resets volume settings, etc. to the factory settings, and deletes all pairing information. In this case, delete the pairing information for the headphones from the connected device and then pair them again.
