I can't connect my soundbar or home theater system to an optional speaker (BRAVIA Theatre Sub 7 / BRAVIA Theatre Rear 8)

- If your device supports the Sony | BRAVIA Connect app but can't connect to a subwoofer or rear speaker (BRAVIA Theatre Quad / HT-A9M2, BRAVIA Theatre Bar 9 / HT-A9000, BRAVIA Theatre Bar8 / HT-A8000):
You need to use the Sony | BRAVIA Connect app to complete the connection. For details, refer to the Help Guide for instructions on how to connect to a main audio device that supports the Sony | BRAVIA Connect app.

If your device doesn't support the Sony | BRAVIA Connect app and can't connect to a subwoofer or rear speaker (HT-A7000, HT-A5000, HT-A3000, HT-A9, STR-AN1000):
You will need to update the soundbar, home theater system, AV receiver, or AV amplifier to the latest software. For details, refer to the Help Guide for instructions on how to connect to a main audio device that doesn't support the Sony | BRAVIA Connect app.
Note: Before connecting the subwoofer or rear speaker, make sure to update the home audio device software. Depending on the model, the manual recommends connecting the optional subwoofer or rear speaker during the initial setup, but make sure to complete the initial setup without connecting the speakers. After that, update the device software and then connect the speakers.
