Soundbar or home theater system does not turn on

If your soundbar or home theater system isn’t powering up, try these steps to resolve the issue.

Step 1: Check the power cord connection

    • Ensure the power cord is securely connected to an AC outlet or AC adaptor.
    • If the power cord is loose or disconnected, the device may suddenly turn off or not power on at all.

Step 2: Test the power strip (if in use)

    • If you’re using a power strip (extension cord), unplug the device and connect it directly to an AC outlet.
      • If the device powers on when connected directly, your power strip’s protection circuit may have tripped due to issues like lightning or overvoltage. Replace the power strip and try again.

Step 3: Verify the AC outlet

    • Plug another device into the same AC outlet to see if it powers on.
      • If other devices don’t work with the outlet, the outlet may be faulty.
      • If other devices work, proceed to the next step.

Step 4: Wait for the soundbar or home theater system to restart

    • After connecting the power cord to a power strip or AC outlet, wait a few moments for the device to restart. Some devices take time to power on after being reset.

Step 5: Perform a power reset

    • Unplug the device from the AC outlet for at least 20 minutes. Then, plug it back in and try to power it on.

    Notes:

    • The device’s protection circuit may activate if it detects abnormal voltage (e.g., from lightning strikes or overvoltage). Waiting while the power cord is unplugged may resolve this.
    • To protect your device, follow the power supply voltage guidelines and unplug during expected lightning storms.

Step 6: Reset to Factory Settings

    • Reset the soundbar, home theater system, subwoofer or rear speaker.

Note: After resetting, wait a few moments for the device to restart. Some devices take time to power on after being reset.

Note: A full reset will restore factory settings.

    Step 7: Seek Professional Service

    • If these steps don’t resolve the issue, a professional repair may be required. Consult a repair service for further assistance. Go to Product Repair.
